Our Halloween Trifecta of Terror continues with a one-off three-part anthology from 1977 titled Dead of Night.  Overall, it is pretty insignificant, though some big names were involved with it.  However, the first story does star one of our favorites, a young Ed Begley Jr.

We start our Halloween 2021 extravaganza with what might be considered the ultimate short-lived cult classic.  Kolchak: The Night Stalker has been remade several times, became a comic book series, and is a progenitor to similar later shows, but its original series only lasted a season.  With a celeb-laden line-up, what happened?

In the latest edition of the remastered series we look back to our New Year's Eve 2019 episode. We look at one of the biggest television disasters of all-time in First Night 2013 presented by Jamie Kennedy.

Around Halloween 2012, a pilot to a rebooted version of The Munsters aired.  If you were expecting campy humor that worked in the 1960s, you're solely mistaken.  Mockingbird Lane was a very dark comedy which was not your Munsters from 50 years ago.

It's a tradition unlike any other here at It Was a Thing on TV.  Last year, we looked at the 1983 Thanksgiving Day parade.  This year, we jump to 1984, a time with Avril the Eccentric, creepy Cabbage Patch Kids, and a Fraggle with permanent sex face.

In our previous episode we discussed Paul Lynde's self-titled sitcom at ABC in 1972-73. After another failed sitcom with Paul in a starring role at ABC, Paul did various guest spots on shows to fulfill his contract with the network. In 1976, Fred Silverman decided to give Paul his own primetime special for Halloween and in true Paul Lynde fashion he made it his own.

Listen as Paul is trapped in a haunted mansion with The Wicked Witch of the West and Wilhemina W. Witchiepoo while having to battle with Tim Conway. Also it's got KISS, Betty White, Billy Barty and Florence Henderson singing disco, how can you go wrong?
