The WB (and now, The CW) like their superhero shows.  In 2001, The WB piloted a reboot of a mid-70s superhero duo, but brought them to the modern day including making the main character (we're not joking) a 50-year-old divorcee who lives in a trailer and is a raging alcoholic.  Needless to say, The WB said thanks but no thanks to Electra-Woman and Dyna-Girl.

It was a movie in 1990, and a successful one at that.  Two years later, a Darkman pilot was done for FOX.  The password is "expository."  And what's the deal with a 16-year-old playing a cop?  Listen to this episode and you'll know what we're talking about.

It's the early 70s.  Gene Roddenberry hit it big with Star Trek and is looking to create the next big thing.  He pitches Genesis II to CBS in 1973, who is not interested.  He tinkers with the format a bit, pitches it to ABC as Planet Earth in 1974, and is shut out again.  There was a third pilot with this format pitched a year later and guess what?  Three strikes and you're out.

We start our 3rd annual pilot month with a look at a potential revival of the Wonder Woman franchise from 2011.  And we thought the worst part was Dr. Phil, Nancy Grace, Jeffrey Toobin and Alan Dershowitz in the first 5 minutes.  This isn't your Lynda Carter Wonder Woman.

The Power Rangers franchise has made bank off of taking an existing Japanese series and creatively editing it for an American audience. On one occasion, they took it another step. Was it a parody? Was it a tribute? Who knows? Lost in Translation Week continues with… “Lost & Found in Translation,” the Bad American Dubbing episode.

It's Chico's birthday and he played his Money in the Bank submission on this show from the mid-80s.  Take the rapidly-growing 80s sport of laser tag, throw in some budget special effects, some rubber monster suits, a plot plucked straight out of The Last Starfighter, and a banging 80s soundtrack, and you get... something that was gone after one season despite turning a profit. Watch as we attempt to break down the demise (and as we try to wrap our collective heads around the allure) of this largely-lost 80s kids show.

"The Book of Boba Fett" the long awaited spin-off of "The Mandalorian" from Robert Rodriguez has finally premiered on Disney+.

Last show, we took a look at a live action version of Spider-Man from the late 1970s.  This episode, we took a look at a live action version of Spider-Man from the late 1970s...from halfway around the world.  Japan did their own take on the superhero, one that Stan Lee loved.

Coming to theaters this weekend is the newest installment in the Spider-Man film franchise "No Way Home".  We look at two televised versions of the franchise from the past.  We start with an episode about the live-action version from 1977 to 1979 that aired on CBS which was good but like many shows we've covered, was mishandled at the network level.
