The It Was a Thing on TV Podcast Network

We've been waiting for this day to happen for weeks.  For the first time in over 41 years, Whew! has aired on US broadcast television.  Mike is here for the entire 3 hours, while Chico hops in about an hour and 45 minutes into the show.  Charge your way to listening to a day none of us ever thought would happen.

Greg and Chico are back with a new edition of It Was a Thing on TV Presents here on Podbean as they give their thoughts on James Gunn's DC movie "The Suicide Squad".

They have discussions about Harley Quinn's morals, the greatness of King Shark and his sad attempt at a fake mustache and just how the actors performed around someone who was invisible!

Then they talk about the recent teaser trailer for "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and where they believe things are going to shake up as far as the rumored castings of the movie are going.

Lastly, they finish by talking about a pair of trainwrecks in the situation with Bishop Sycamore on ESPN and the Mike Richards disaster over at Jeopardy!

The new TV season is nearby.  One of our favorite shows back in the day was the Saturday morning cartoon preview show that generally aired the night before the premiere of the new fall Saturday morning lineups.  In 1985, CBS went all out, producing an hour-long show with Rowdy Roddy Piper and celebrities ranging from Pee Wee Herman to Herve Villechaize to Captain Lou Albano to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.  Who knew CBS' Saturday morning cartoons ran until 2 PM!

ALL ABOARD! In the latest episode of the It Was a Thing on TV Remastered series we look back on the legendary 1979 NBC flop Supertrain.

Thanks to Alonzo P. Hawk we got a train that can go cross-country in 36 hours and runs on Time Lord technology.

Just make sure you don't get kidnapped by Billy Barty and a magician before you have to play Roddy McDowell in a closed circuit broadcasted poker game.

A short-run show from 1984, Domestic Life involved a number of big stars including Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, and Martin Mull.  Some members of the media knew it was good, but it was just too late.  And it had Bob Ridgely!

Before Jason Alexander was George Constanza, he was in a popular commercial for the McDLT, a McDonald's sandwich from the 80s.  Greg and Chico talk about the ad, future offerings from McDonald's, a Filipino commercial for one of those sandwiches, and a very special ending with another McDLT commercial.

Last year, we gave you the 3rd Annual Collegiate Cheerleading Championship with Magic Johnson, Jayne Kennedy, Catherine Bach, and Gallagher.  We're back with the championships from a year later with John Davidson, Marilyn Michaels, Mary Ann Mobley, Andy Gibb, and Victoria Principal.

The It Was a Thing on TV Remastered series resumes as we start the second half with one of the first concept episodes we ever did on the podcast.

We take a look at the Tommy Westphall Universe and some of the weird and various connections that the final episode of St. Elsewhere has impacted on the world of television.

At this point we probably think of Tommy Westphall as the OG He Who Remains from Loki. Where were those prune sticks when we needed them back in Late 2019?

The 80s show Press Your Luck had an iconic cast of characters as contestants, including a future American Gladiator, a future talk show host, and an ice cream truck driver who broke the bank.  One of our favorites is a gentleman named Gene Snyder, the subject of this minisode.
